TOPIC WILL BE: Urge your legislators to cosponsor the Animal Cruelty Enforcement (ACE) Act, H.R. 8052
A new bill has been introduced in Congress, the Animal Cruelty Enforcement (ACE) Act, to create an animal cruelty crimes section at the Department of Justice. A dedicated Animal Cruelty Crimes section at DOJ would allow for robust and effective enforcement of federal animal welfare laws, including the animal fighting law, Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, and Horse Protection Act, by designating personnel focused on these issues. DOJ already has dedicated sections on other important societal concerns, such as environmental protection, wildlife, and organized crime.
