027: Disabled Is Not A Bad Word with Allison Lang

Allison Lang is an amputee and body inclusivity advocate.

She is also an educator, athlete, model, traveller, and self-proclaimed jokester. We agree. She's funny AF.

With July Disability Pride Month, we wanted to speak with her about how we can do a better job of advocating and educating, all year round and Allison is the proper powerhouse to help us do just that! And let's all start a petition to get an official Disability Pride Month in Canada, eh?!

The work Allison has done advocating for humans with disabilities on social media, and shifting the industry with beauty standards, has educated many! It has also shown humans with disabilities that they are seen and deserve to feel and be included!

Allison also touches on how she's extremely passionate about raising awareness around the fact that “disabled” is not a bad word and has made it her mission to break the stigmas our society has placed on humans with disabilities.

We know the best is yet to come for our boo thang Ms. Lang. This episode is emotional and filled with the kind of laughter and learning the world needs more of!

Need more Allison Lang in your life? Catch her on the social media machines!
