We start discussing our approach to scripture that to unlock what the Old Testament says requires the testimony of Yeshua. This weeks Parsha (Ex 13-17) describes God's provision and mighty deliverance of His people at the Red Sea. Ex 14:13-14 "Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation (Hebrew yeshuat) of the LORD, which He will work for you to-day... The LORD will fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Ex 16:4 tells of God's provision of manna: "' Behold, I will cause to rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in My law or not." In our New Testament portion John 6:32-35: "Then Yeshua said, 'Truly, truly I say to you, Moses did not give you bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world...Yeshua said to them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me shall never hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst." In John 6:47-51 Yeshua says: "Truly, truly I say to you, whoever believes in Me has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. The bread which I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh."...John 6:57-58 "'As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on Me also will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not as your fathers ate manna and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.'"
