We discuss John 15 and John 17 from a point of view of One New Man. Yeshua/Jesus at the Last Supper (Passover Seder) when he institutes the sacrament of communion states that He is the vine and His Father is the vinedresser. Healthy branches produce much fruit! Yeshua tells us many times to abide in him. "Abide in me, and I in you." To abide in his love means to follow His commandments as He has followed His father's commandments. Yeshua/Jesus commands us to love one another as he has loved us. "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." And then Yeshua says in John 17:19 "And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth." And unity in the body of Christ (One new Humanity) : John 17:21-23 "that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me."
