In this episode of Shielded Voices, we are honored to welcome Deborah Green, a dedicated advocate for mental health in the first responder community. Debbie's journey began in 1986 as a Communications Specialist with the California Army National Guard, eventually transitioning to the role of a Military Police Officer.
Her public safety career spanned decades, including service as a dispatcher with the Sacramento Police Department and the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department. After experiencing a critical incident in 2019 that led to a PTSD/cPTSD diagnosis, Debbie retired in 2021 and turned her focus to supporting others.
As a member of the online support group The Power of Our Story, a group who recently published the book Wounds to Wisdom, Debbie uses her experiences to inspire resilience and healing. Join us as she shares her powerful story, offering insights on advocacy, mental health, and the importance of sharing personal experiences to foster connection and support
