Mary Rodwell is an internationally recognized researcher, author, and speaker specializing in UFO and extraterrestrial contact phenomena. She is the founder and principal of the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network (ACERN), established in 1997, which provides professional counseling, hypnotherapy, and support for individuals and families experiencing anomalous paranormal or abduction-contact experiences. Born in the United Kingdom, Rodwell migrated to Western Australia in 1991 and currently resides in Queensland.
A former nurse, midwife, and health educator, she worked as a professional counselor for the UK's National Health Service and Australian agencies such as Silver Chain and Centrecare. Since 1994, she has operated in private practice as a counselor, clinical hypnotherapist, metaphysical teacher, Reiki Master, researcher, and international speaker. Rodwell is also the Vice-President of the Star Kids Project Ltd and an advisory committee member of Exopolitics.
She authored the highly acclaimed book Awakening: How Extraterrestrial Contact Can Transform Your Life (2002, republished 2010), described by Dr. Roger Leir as the “Bible of the Alien Abduction Phenomenon.” Her second book, The New Human: Awakening to Our Cosmic Heritage (2016), documents the experiences of “star children” and suggests a genetic engineering program by non-human intelligences to upgrade human consciousness. Rodwell has produced two EBE award-winning documentaries: Expressions of ET Contact: A Visual Blueprint? (2000) and Expressions of ET Contact: A Communication and Healing Blueprint? (2004). She also created a collection of meditation and relaxation CDs available through New Mind Records.
Rodwell's research explores extraterrestrial encounters from scientific, biological, psychological, anthropological, spiritual, and historical perspectives, proposing that these interactions may be linked to conditions like ADHD, Asperger's, and autism, reflecting heightened awareness of non-physical realms. She has investigated over 3,000 cases and is a co-founder of the Dr. Edgar Mitchell Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial Encounters (FREE). Her work has been featured in media, including the Australian documentary OZ Files, My Mum Talks to Aliens (SBS Australia, 2010), and Australian Doctor Focus Magazine (November 2003). Rodwell has lectured globally in countries such as the USA, Canada, UK, and New Zealand and appeared in documentaries like ET Contact: They Are Here (2017) and Australian Skies 2 (2018).
