Breaking of Bread

Breaking of Bread

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock." - Matthew 7:24-25

Jesus said over and over again that we should build our lives on his teachings, but what does that truly involve? Join us as we break down the last words Jesus left us (The Great Commission) and the apostles' response to them.

Deliverance from death – Romans 6:23

We have been spared by a substitute sacrifice – Romans 3:25

Christ began the new covenant for all peoples with his blood – Ephesians 1:7; 2:13

The Lord's Supper is to be celebrated and remembered – 1 Corinthians 5:7-8; 11:25; Hebrews 10:23-25

The “when” of our observance is not as important as the “how” – Galatians 3:26-28; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17

The Lord's Supper is a feast of covenant and remembrance, and the covenant is that of fellowship with Christ and each other.

Two additional meanings of significance: “You proclaim the Lord's death” “Until he comes”

Warning: Partaking in an unworthy manner – 1 Corinthians 11:27; 29-30

Judge and examine ourselves Prepare before/as you come
