Jesus intentionally recruited marginalized people—even those who seemed to deserve their suffering or rejection. He knew that beneath all the distortion and brokenness, we are all made in God's image and longing to belong and play vital part in His story. He also knows that the "least likely" are often first in line for love, forgiveness, and a genuine new start, and He went where they were to reach them.
