In this episode, David Moulton and I talk USC football, college football, and NFL Week 1 Recap
First, we talk about USC firing head coach Clay Helton after a disappointing 42-28 loss to Pac-12 rival Stanford. David was not surprised USC fired Helton with the Trojans getting a big head start to find their new coach. David believes USC should go after former Trojan and current Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
We also look at struggling traditional powers in Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Michigan. David believes the Vols have lost their recruiting advantage where UT ruled with the nation's largest recruiting budget in the nation.
With David in Gainesville for the Alabama-Florida game on Saturday, we breakdown what to expect in the SEC's first big showdown of 2021. David expects Florida to try and establish the running game. By Running the football, Florida can tire Alabama's defense, and limit Bama's explosive offense.
We also look at which teams are looking the best early in the 2021 CFB season.
From college to the NFL, we answer what went wrong for reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a 38-3 defeat to the New Orleans Saints. David mentions how the Saints went on two 15-play touchdowns drives, which limited the Packers offensive snaps in the first half in Jacksonville. We also agree the Packers should still control the NFC North with the other three teams losing Sunday.
We also talk about Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals getting an impressive 38-13 win over the Tennessee Titans.
We conclude this episode by looking at how Jacksonville Jaguars rookie star Trevor Lawrence fared in his NFL Debut.
