Buffalo Bills 2022 NFL Draft with Jeff Bell

Here, Buffalo Bills guru Jeff Bell and I preview Buffalo's outlook for Thursday's NFL Draft. Heading into Thursday's draft in Las Vegas, the Bills will have the 25th pick. We look at where the Bills could go with the No. 25 pick. As in most recent drafts, wide receiver is becoming more and more valued in the NFL. More teams are using three- and four-receiver sets. I explain how the top receivers, including Ohio State's Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, USC's Drake London, Bama's Jameson Williams, and Arkansas phenom Treylon Burks, could all be gone by Buffalo's first choice - meaning the Bills may need an aggressive move to secure a dynamic weapon. I really think the Bills need a speed weapon with Josh Allen's huge arm and mobility. While wide receiver could be addressed, I think the Bills need another cornerback with Tre'Davious White coming off a torn ACL. Jeff explains how the Bills have developed cornerbacks around White. With White nearing 30 and coming off a serious injury, the Bills may address this position. Cincinnati's "Sauce" Gardner and LSU's Derek Stingley Jr. should be the top cornerbacks in Thursday's first round. I then bring up how Bills general manager has been a draft master the past several years. I explain Beane's draft hits including star passer Josh Allen. Beane also traded Buffalo's first-round pick in 2020 for star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. For Jeff, Iowa State running back Breece Hall intrigues him as a potential No. 1 running back. With Hall's rushing at Iowa State, he could give the Bills a dynamic rusher to give Allen more help. While some teams may ignore a running back in the first round, the Bills may look at Hall late on Thursday. We also take a look at the quarterback carousel for this year's draft. Unlike most years, there does not appear to be a franchise star quarterback. We both believe that Liberty's Malik Willis will likely be the first QB drafted on Thursday. With teams not looking to draft Willis high, he could fall to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 20th pick. I then quiz Jeff on the 2013 draft, where the Bills took EJ Manuel as the only first-round quarterback on that year's class.
