2022 PGA Championship Preview with Tom Jacobs

2022 PGA Championship Preview with Tom Jacobs

In this episode, English golf betting expert Tom Jacobs and I preview the 2022 PGA Championship, which will be at Southern Hills in Tulsa. First, we look at how Southern Hills will play. I explain how golf designer Gil Hanse redesigned Southern Hills. The course is now over 7,500 yards. The only two par 5's are both over 630 yards. The new layout offers wider fairways, but the second shot will likely play a bigger role in this major. With small greens, Hanse's design offers little room with small greens. Tom believes wind could play a huge role with Oklahoma's windy weather. Several big names Will be looking to tame golf's second major of 2022. Masters champ Scottie Scheffler will be looking for his second straight major and fifth win in 2022. Tom regrets not betting Scheffler at Augusta. Jordan Spieth will be looking to complete his Grand Slam with a PGA Championship win. 2017 PGA Champion Justin Thomas will be looking for his second year. Former U.S. Open and Masters champ Dustin Johnson will be looking for his third major. Tom believes DJ over be over looked ehading into the PGA and fits this course really well. DJ's putting could determine his week. We look at guys looking at a potential breakout. Tom likes Victor Hovland, Shane Lowry, and Max Homa. I cannot believe Justin Thomas hasn't won since the 2021 Players Championship. Cameron Young, with three top-five finishes in year, is intriguing heading into a major. Then, we switch to our favorite bets. I love DJ at 22-1. Will Zalatoris is another of my favorite bets at 35-1, and a win is coming for one of golf's next stars. Tom likes 2011 PGA champ Keegan Bradley and Sergio Garcia at 70-1. Then, Tom gives The Big D some PGA Championship trivia from the last time Southern Hills hosted a major. For once I am stumped over some of the questions. I get my revenge over a Y.E. Yang question. This episode concludes with our predictions and favorite DFS long shots. We both like Justin Thomas to capture his second Wanamker Trophy at Southern Hills. Tom really explains his passion for Korea's Joo-Hyung Kim at $6,300 on DraftKings.
