UFC 276 Preview with Billy Ward

Here, UFC Fantasy Labs writer/betting expert Billy Ward and I preview UFC 276 taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 2. We start this episode by talking about the Middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Jared Cannonier. Adesanya is coming into this fight with a 22-1 record. His only loss came as a light-heavyweight against Jan Błachowicz last year. Cannonier enters this fight coming off a knockout win against Derek Brunson in February. Despite the champ's big odds, Billy believes Cannonier is the right play for this fight from a betting and DraftKings. Adesanya is not only the most expensive fighter, but his fighting style does not score points. Billy also remembers how Blachowicz controlled Adesanya. He also remembers how Adesanya weighed just 200.5 pounds for a fight at 205 pounds. In the co-main event, Alex Volkanovski and Max Holloway's trilogy will decide the UFC Featherweight fight. Despite Volkanovski winning both fights, some people may argue Holloway won the second fight. Billy likes Volkanovski's strength and power despite being shorter than the former champ. Unlike the main event, this fight could have both fighters in the optimum lineup. Vol and Holloway throw plenty of volume and scoring upside in a five-round fight. With two 25-minute fights against each, this could be another classic. I bring up how Holloway has taken a lot of damage and usually goes the distance in every fight. We then discuss our other favorite fights. Billy likes the Middleweight fight between Sean Strickland and Alex Pereira. I like seeing two old UFC fighters, "Cowboy" Cerrone and Jim Miller, meet in the Octagon. When then discuss our cash and GPP strategy for this weekend's DK slate. With plenty of time before Saturday's fights, the decision over which fighters to use in cash and tournaments will be important to make it a winning week.
