Jesus continues to teach that the only way to both get eternal life in heaven and to avoid going to hell is to follow Him. John the Baptist is in prison and has a faith crisis, asking Jesus if he is really the Messiah. Jesus answers this question by pointing out to John the Baptist that He (Jesus) is fulfilling all the prophesies written about the Messiah in scripture.
