Have you ever heard the story about the son that runs away from his Father after being given everything? Then, when he gets away from him, he completely blows all his money, becomes a nobody where he used to be a somebody, and has to eat pig slop to even survive!! Then he reminds himself…why am I living with no security or purpose when my father's servants have everything they could need?? This is the Prodigal Son Story && just wait it gets better!! (Luke 15:11-24) He makes his way back home to go return to His Father. Imagine what was racing through his head as he took that long walk of shame journey. AND THEN his father spots him from far away, is “filled with compassion,” and starts to RUN TO HIM. I don't know about you but I'd be freaking out. Like is he about to kill me?? Am I about to get a firm talking to?? Am I being told to leave?? Yet, the father embraces him in a loving HUG sealed with a kiss, a ring is put on his finer, shoes on his feet, a robe is placed upon him, and he quickly has a fattened calf brought for a celebratory feast. This signifies SO MANY BEAUTIFUL THINGS!!!! WHAT A STORY. For many of us, and definitely for myself, this was my story. Are you a prodigal too?
