New Mexico St at UTEP—New Mexico St improved to 4-3 with their 27-13 home victory to Sam Houston St. The Aggies rushed for 172 yards. They held the Bearkats to 82 yards rushing but 285 passing on 49 attempts. Diego Pavia completed 20 of 36 passes for 286 yards with two touchdowns. He averaged 7.9 yards per pass attempt and rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown. UTEP improved to 2-5 with their 27-14 road win at FIU. The Miners rushed for 139 yards. They held the Golden Panthers to under three yards per rush with 272 passing on 30 attempts. Gavin Hardison missed the game due to an elbow injury and is questionable here. Cade McConnell completed 11 of 17 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 15.4 yards per pass attempt.
