USF at NC State—Free pick is South Florida Bulls +18.5. Jeff Scott left Clemson as an offensive coordinator to take over as the USF coach last year. They took their lumps in a COVID year and should show improvement for Scott in 2021. This is an experienced team returning eighteen starters from last season. There is a quarterback battle between transfers but all five return to the offensive line. The front seven experienced as well for USF. The offense did show improvement in yardage and in scoring in Scott's first year. Cover late in the season at Temple and Memphis along with a cover home to UCF is encouraging. NC State an experience team had four losses last year. Defensively they did allow 29 points and 415 yards per game. They did allow 42 points or greater to Wake Forest, North Carolina, Miami and Virginia Tech last season. Not comfortable laying these many points behind this Wolfpack defense. Play USF +18.5.
