All but one offensive lineman returns and Bachmeier will have his playmakers. Avalos was once a defensive coordinator with the Broncos so expect that area to tighten. They held opposing quarterbacks last year to 52.8% completion rate and were very good getting off the field on third down. Gus Malzahn lands at UCF after betting let go at Auburn. UCF is experienced and has their quarterback Dillon Gabriel back. But the team with all their talent still finished at 6-4. This was on account of a defense that surrendered 33 points and 492 yards per game with 299 in the passing game. Knights allowed 50 to Memphis, 34 to Tulsa, 36 to Cincinnati and 49 in their bowl game to BYU all resulting in losses. They won but didn't cover at USF as they allowed 46 points to the Bulls.
