Rice at Texas—College football pick is Texas Longhorns -26. Not encouraged to back Rice as they were held to 308 yards and 17 points to Arkansas plus 212 yards last week along with seven points in a loss to Houston. Cougars not known to defend well the past several seasons. Texas looks to rebound after a road defeat at Arkansas. But at home against an experienced Louisiana team the Longhorns did post 435 yards in a 20 points win. They held a good Sun Belt team in the Ragin Cajuns to 18 points, 4 of 13 on third down along with 2.6 yards per rush. Owls run game producing only 2.8 per attempt. Quarterback Luke McCaffrey completing only 48.6% of his throws on the year. He couldn't beat out Adrian Martinez at Nebraska. Rice dealing with injuries at wide receiver. Play Texas -26.
