Tough spot for the Spartans who after a trip in a late night game at Hawaii ending Sunday morning Pacific time have to make the road trip to Western Michigan with a 2PM Eastern Time local start. Spartans came off a bye week after getting pounded at USC and escaped Hawaii with a 17-13 win. Spartans could only gain 292 yards on a poor Rainbows defense. The run game for San Jose St is generating only 3.8 yards per rush. Quarterback Nick Starkel, an Arkansas transfer, is completing only 51% of his passes as he is looking more like that mediocre quarterback with the Razorbacks. Starkel completed less than half of his passes against Hawaii with 4.7 yards per pass attempt. Western Michigan coming off the upset win at Pittsburgh last week. The offense produced 517 yards in the win. Quarterback Kaleb Eleby is completing 62.4% of his throws with five touchdowns and no picks. Bad travel spot for San Jose St. Play Western Michigan -3.
