Episode 2: Resetting Your Nervous System


In this week's podcast, I start by calling in the directions to create sacred space. I then guide us through four practices to reset the nervous system, helping to take us out of the sympathetic nervous system (fight/flight) and into the parasympathetic nervous system (rest/digest). When in the parasympathetic nervous system, our bodies are able to naturally begin to heal and restore themselves.

I guide four practices but give five different ideas for ways to tune back into our bodies, rather than distracting, denying, or dissociating. Most of them take five minutes or less. The last offering is a longer (approx 18 minute) guided yoga nidra for healing. Five practices to reset your nervous system:
  • Ten deep belly breaths
  • Three part body scan
  • "I give myself permission to feel my body"
  • Somatic chakra clearing
  • Guided nidra to waterfall healing
